for Manufacturer of the Year

Altamaha Technical College nominated IPS Balers, Inc. for the 2006 Manufacturer of the Year Award during Manufacturer’s Appreciation Week. In order to nominate a business for this award the company should demonstrate corporate responsibility, contribute to local economic growth, and show a commitment to workforce excellence. According to Dr. Hank Martin, ATC Vice President of Economic Development, “ATC nominated IPS as Manufacturer of the Year because they are a company that was started by two local brothers, Forest and Sydney Wildes, and has grown into an international company with sales all over the world. The company provides employment for local workers in welding, assembly, maintenance, and a variety of other jobs. IPS epitomizes the type of company that drives the economic engine in Appling and surrounding counties.”
IPS Balers, Inc. is a privately held corporation that began in 1995 with over 300 years of experience in the design, production, technical support and sales of balers in both the fiber and non-ferrous markets. Today, IPS produces one of the most extensive lines of balers in the recycling market while already rewriting the book on baling with the Patented Hinged Sidewall Horizontal Baler. The company is located in Baxley with 60 employees in a 70,000 square foot manufacturing facility.
