100% Pass Rate in 2011 PDF Print E-mail

Practical Nursing Program achieves 100% pass rate in 2011!

Altamaha Technical College is pleased to announce its Practical Nursing Program achieved a 100% board examination pass rate in 2011.

According to Dr. Ron Shafer, Dean of Academic Affairs for General Education and Health Occupations, this is the first time a 100% pass rate has been achieved since the College expanded its territory to the coast. Both the Jesup and Baxley campuses have achieved 100% pass rates for their respective programs, but this is the first time all three campuses – Jesup, Baxley and Brunswick, have achieved 100% pass rates at the same time.

“This means that all nursing graduates on all Altamaha Technical College’s campuses passed their licensure exam with the Georgia Board of Nursing – on the first try,” said Dr. Ron Shafer, Dean of Academic Affairs for General Education and Health Occupations. “This is a huge achievement!”

June McClain, Vice President for Academic Affairs, congratulates the College’s Practical Nursing Instructors Bridget Atkins, Peggy Christiana, Tammy Higgins, Betty Manning, Sheryl Nipper and Virginia Lea Rothwell – as well as the practical nursing program students – on a “job well done”.

“The practical nursing instructors are doing a phenomenal job of teaching their students and preparing them for success in the nursing profession,” said McClain. “This success shows in the 100% pass rate on the State Boards for all three campuses.”
Visit Altamaha Technical College at one of its five regional locations in Baxley, Brunswick, Hazlehurst, Jesup and Kingsland or go online to www.altamahatech.edu. Altamaha Technical College offers more than 80 degree, diploma and certificate programs. Summer Semester begins May 21.
