Altamaha Technical College's Online Programs offer Learning Anytime, Anywhere
Online learning at Altamaha Technical College provides students the opportunity to access quality instruction anytime, anywhere. These courses offer a quality technology-based learning environment without traditional time and space limitations. Online courses adhere to the same standards and credit requirements as traditionally taught classroom courses.
Students with a high level of self-discipline, the ability to communicate well and work independently find the online courses to be very beneficial when work and personal life demands limit the times they are available for customary classes.
Requirements for online courses include:
•A Windows operating system (Vista, XP, 2000, NT, ME, 98); daily access to a computer in a quiet environment; •an internet service with an email account; an Internet browser of Internet Explorer 7 or FireFox 2x or higher; and Word processing software (most courses use Microsoft Word 2007).
Hardware requirements include:
•A Pentium/AMD/Athlon processor 1.0Ghz or higher; a 512 MB RAM - 1 Gig preferred •100 MB of free disk space (to install a browser if necessary, plus additional space for other programs if applicable) •DSL modem, Cable modem, or 56K modem •Printer (laser or inkjet) and CD-ROM (required for some courses)
