ATC Employees Donate to State Charitable Contributions Program
At the end of last year Altamaha Technical College’s employees had the option of participating in the 2006-2007 State Charitable Contributions Program (SCCP). Once a year state employees have an opportunity to make financial contributions to charities of their choice through the use of payroll deduction and/or donations. The SCCP works to strengthen our community by supporting health, welfare, educational and environmental programs. These programs include service to the elderly, youth development activities, providing help to those with illnesses, counseling for the troubled, job training for the homeless and programs to preserve and restore the environment.
For the 2006-2007 program ATC so far has donated over S1000 more than last year, and employee participation increased. ATC’s Baxley campus had 100% participation.
In the history of the SCCP, Georgia’s state and university system employees have generously donated over $35 million to charitable organizations that provide services to the citizens and communities of Georgia.
