ATC Encourages Healthier Campus
Effective October 1, 2006, Altamaha Technical College became a tobacco-free campus, prohibiting the use of all tobacco products on all of its campuses and offsite facilities including the parking lots.
“This was not a quick or easy decision,” says Kirk Rivenbark, Altamaha Technical College’s Vice President of Instruction. “In fact, the College’s Executive Council deliberated the issue for more than a year. Ultimately it came down to the health concerns for the students, faculty and staff as well as the aesthetics of the campus.”
