ATC Receives Two Good Neighbor Awards

Each year the state of Georgia recognizes individuals and agencies for their support of the State Charitable Contributions Program.   One type of award is the Good Neighbor Award, which recognizes those agencies that had a significant increase in monies given, employee participation, or effort displayed.  This year Altamaha Technical College has received two Good Neighbor Awards.

The Baxley campus of ATC was recognized with a Good Neighbor Award for their outstanding achievement of 100% participation in the 2006-2007 Charitable Contributions Program.  Also, the combined efforts of all the employees of ATC resulted in a second Good Neighbor Award.  ATC had a significant increase in this year’s contributions over last year’s contributions.  The employees at ATC collectively contributed $1,000 more in this year’s campaign than was contributed in the 2005-2006 campaign.
The State Charitable Contributions Program works to strengthen communities by supporting health, welfare, educations and environmental programs.  According to ATC President, Lorette Hoover, “This is a wonderful program that gives the faculty and staff of the college the opportunity to contribute to their community and country.  We are honored to receive these awards."
