Morrison Makes Top 12 at GOAL Competition
Last week, Shawna Morrison, Altamaha Technical College’s Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) representative, competed with 38 other technical college students for the state title in Atlanta, placing in the top 12. During the competition each person had to give a three minute speech on what technical education means to them and go through a twelve minute interview session with the judges. “Shawna did an excellent job and represented our college very well,” said Cindy Brown, ATC’s GOAL Coordinator. Morrison, a practical nursing student, will continue to represent ATC as an ambassador for the college until she graduates in December. According to Morrison, “This experience has had such a huge impact on my life, and is one that I will never forget. I especially cherish the friendships that I have developed, and I would like to thank everyone for their support and encouraging words.”
