Rayonier Gift in Memory of Dr. Henry J. Martin

Jesup, GA -    Altamaha Technical College's Foundation recently received a gift in memory of Dr. Henry J. "Hank" Martin from the Rayonier Foundation. Dr. Martin was a longtime member of the community and college lending his talents in many areas. 

Martin  began his career with Altamaha Technical College on June 1, 1989, as the Industrial Maintenance Instructor. From 1989 to 1996, he served as an instructor and Special Assistant to the President.  Martin serving as the Director of Technical Education was promoted to the position of Vice President of Economic Development in March 1997. In 1999, he completed a two-year program in economic development and was awarded a certificate as a Certified Economic Developer Trainer by the Technical College System of Georgia. Dr. Martin was a member of the National Association of Industrial Technology and was a certified Senior Industrial Technologist. He was Past President of the Industry Division. He was also a member of the International Society of Performance Improvement and The National Honor Society. Dr. Martin was co-founder and President of Georgia Garment Association and Director of the St. Kitts Manufacturers Association. After having achieved a successful career in education and manufacturing, he retired from the Altamaha Technical College in December 2010.
