Scholarship opportunities abound at Altamaha Technical College

JESUP, Ga. (November 28, 2011) – Altamaha Technical College launched a new scholarship application this winter for students enrolling in the Spring 2012 semester. The new application allows students to apply for one of Altamaha Technical College Foundation, Inc.’s many scholarship and loan programs.

Applications are now available online at www.altamahatech.edu/atc-foundation/scholarship-info “The Foundation raises money each year to support the needs of the students at Altamaha Technical College,” said Melinda Laager, executive vice president of the Altamaha Technical College Foundation. “We hope by making the scholarship opportunities a little easier to find online and by updating the application process, more students will apply and be able to take advantage of this additional funding.”

Applications may be mailed or hand-delivered to the College’s Office of Financial Aid, but must be received by Jan. 6, 2012 in order for a student to be considered for the maximum amount of funding for those who meet eligibility requirements. All scholarship monies may pay for tuition, fees, books and pre-approved academic-related supplies at the Altamaha Technical College campuses only.

Scholarship selection is based on grade point average, financial need, leadership and community involvement as well as responses to the essay questions, which ask about personal, educational and career goals. Two letters of recommendation are also required, and must be included in the submitted application, so students are encouraged to start filling out their applications today.
