HAZLEHURST, Ga. (December 13, 2011) – Altamaha Technical College Foundation, Inc. recognized three outgoing trustees at its December luncheon December 8 at the Big House in Hazlehurst. Ethelyn Creech, Sallie Ursrey and Ricky Ursrey, all of Hazlehurst, were recognized for their longtime service to the technical college foundation board.

The Altamaha Foundation Board of Trustees is composed of individuals from the college’s seven-county service area. Ethelyn Creech is the City of Hazlehurst City Clerk. Sallie Comstock Ursrey is a Network Administrator at Bank of Hazlehurst, and Ricky Ursrey is Assistant Director of Customer Service at Satilla EMC. They will continue to serve the board in an emeritus status.   “Ethelyn, Sallie and Ricky have been great friends and supporters of the college.  We are pleased that they will serve in an emeritus role and continue to be involved with Altamaha,” said Melinda Laager, Executive Vice President of the Altamaha Technical College Foundation, Inc.

The luncheon was the perfect setting to showcase the achievements of the students of the Altamaha Technical College’s Hazlehurst Culinary Arts Program, under the instruction of Chef Jen Evans. Students selected the menu, prepared and served the meal. They delighted the lunch attendees with an outstanding presentation of Roasted Cauliflower Soup, Beef Wellington with a Red Wine Reduction Sauce, haricots verts and potato puree and a dessert of Crème Brulee. Students include Mary Lou Gamble, Jamie Douglas, Deshon Brown, Victor Ballew and Michelle Felkel. The Big House, which is frequently the setting of weddings and receptions, is the home to the College’s Culinary Program in Hazlehurst.
Other outgoing trustees not present at the luncheon but who were also recognized is Mike Burch of Jesup, Jeff Rosbach of Jesup and Betty Smiley of Ludowici.
