ATC Students and Faculty host Activity Day College wide

adrenaline
Jesup, GA –   ATC College Students and Faculty from the seven-county service area (Appling, Camden, Glynn, Jeff Davis, Long, McIntosh and Wayne) took a page from the playbook of kindergarteners – they took a recess. The group gathered on campus to simply take a break from studies, relax and build camaraderie by joining in some outdoor activities. The college’s Student Activity Day Committee brought vendors in to celebrate the student body with food and festivities.

Festivities included a cake walk, limbo contest, karaoke station, obstacle course, horseshoe throw and bouncing machine. Organizer Tracy Brummett shares, “This is an afternoon set aside just for our students to recognize them, show how much we appreciate them and give them a respite from their hard work in the classroom.” President Lorette Hoover adds, “We acknowledge how much of their lives these students are giving just to be here taking classes at the College. They are working to better their situations and those of their families. We celebrate their sacrifices by holding this Student Activity Day.”

Veltrice Pratt, a Hinesville resident, who drives to nursing class in Baxley, said, “This is a day to let our hair down. It’s a treat that the school recognizes students for a day. Look around at everyone having fun!” Pratt added that, “ATC is very hands-on. Students are not ‘lost’ here. They get proper attention.”
