If You Don't, Who Will? ATC Sponsors Blood Drive
JESUP - Altamaha Technical College recently partnered with the local American Red Cross for a blood drive on campus. With both community and student donors Red Cross associates drove from the Savannah and Jacksonville offices for the event. With a goal of collecting 28 units of blood, the Red Cross team exceeded that goal by eight units, collecting 36 in five short hours.
An ATC Accounting Technician, Lisa Hernandez, donates blood every six months, and says she gives "to help save lives." Serena Rogers, a Red Cross Collections Technician for ten years stated, "You never know when your family might need blood and we take pride in collecting it.” Jennifer Olson, another Collections Technician shared her philosophy on donating blood in one question: "If I don't, who will?"
College President Lorette Hoover echoes this sentiment. "We are proud of the years of partnership between the Red Cross and Altamaha Tech. This blood drive is another example of an event where each and every contribution made by a member of our community can help another member of our community."
Altamaha Technical College is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia.
