1st Runner-up in State Cook-off
The Hazlehurst Jeff Davis Chamber of Commerce held the second annual Georgia Great Steak Cook-Off on Saturday March 1st. There were 16 teams competing for the $1000 grand prize and large granite trophy. Our very own students from the culinary program participated in the event for the first time and took home the first runner-up trophy and a $250 check. Of the 16 teams competing only six were from Hazlehurst the rest were from as far away as Alachua, Florida. The event was a huge success with an attendance of over 450 people which doubled from the previous year.
