Heavy Diesel Service Technician Students Honored

yancey-logoAltamaha Technical College and Yancey Brothers Company began a partnership over three years ago with the Heavy Diesel Service Technology Certificate Program. On Thursday, September 4th a large crowd gathered in Hazlehurst at the Big House, where Altamaha Technical College Culinary Arts Program is housed, to observe the third class of students that completed this program.  Students, with supporting family and friends, traveled from nine counties in the area. Graduates were: Michael Armfield, Kirk Bennett, Chad Carter, Pierre Chery, Trey Davis, Philip DeLeGal, Craig Deloach, Wayne Foskey, Kevin Hunnicutt, Earl Little, Eugene O,Neal, Bill Purdee, Andrew Williams and Alex Williams.

2008-hd-gradJeff Cornwell, Yancey Bros. Co. Recruiter brought comments and well wishes to the students.  Cornwell stated “we are extremely impressed with how much the young men have grown over the past year and feel that their growth and skills acquired is a true reflection of the time, effort, and training put in by their instructor, Albert Wildes.”   Wildes also commented on the dedication exhibited by each one of his students.  “This has been a great group of hardworking young men and I feel very confident that they will all be very successful.”  The evening events were completed with a spectacular meal prepared by students enrolled in the culinary arts program under the direction of Chef Jennifer Evans.

The next class will begin September 29th at the Heavy Equipment Training Center located on US# 1 South in Baxley.  For more information about the program please call (912) 367-1764 or 888-755-2832.
