Rose Ceremony for ATC Patient Care Assistants
Baxley – Eighteen Patient Care Assisting program students received a rose commemorating completion of their coursework at a formal ceremony December 9, 2010 . Ted Craven, Instructor at Altamaha Technical College was the guest speaker for the program held at the Baxley campus of Altamaha Technical College. Having completed their program of study graduates can sit for the State CNA Certification Exam.
The roses along with certificates were presented by instructors Diane Williamson, L.P.N., Martha Tomberlin, R.N. and Ted Craven. The formal ceremony included a song by Kevin Weaver, the PCA Code of Ethics by Whitney Carter and a presentation of “A Special Place by Lana Teston. “Students look forward to celebrating their achievements with their friends and family,” said Nursing Instructor Martha Tomberlin. The class of Patient Care Assistants can participate in the college’s January graduation ceremony. Altamaha Technical College graduates approximately 40 patient care assistants annually.
Altamaha Technical College offers Practical Nursing, Medical Assisting(Business & Services), Health Care Assistant, Paramedic Technology, Emergency Medical Technician, Patient Care Assisting, and Patient Care Technician programs in its Health Occupations Division.
