Students Prepare “Haute Cuisine”
Culinary Arts dual enrollment students from Jeff Davis High School held their 2nd Annual Parent Appreciation Dinner June 2, 2009 at the Big House in Hazlehurst. Parents and guests were served a six course meal with each student responsible for preparing one of the courses. The gourmet meal began with a Crispy Shrimp with Cucumber Sesame Noodles, Fresh Mint and Thai Basil appetizer and concluded with a Blueberry Brown Butter Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream dessert.
Altamaha Technical College’s dual enrollment program allows juniors and seniors to take college classes during their regularly scheduled day and earn high school credit and college credit at the same time. Upon successful completion of the program students earn a Technical Certificate of Credit. Culinary Arts Instructor Chef Jennifer E vans stated how proud she was of all her students, “They worked extremely hard to make this special night a success and I am glad that all the parents got to experience fine dining at its best, prepared and served by their very own children”.
Students currently enrolled are: Brianna Rollins, Matt Fowler, Andrei Hall,
Alana Cravey, Amber Floyd and Lindsey Harris.
