Altamaha Technical College Recognizes Two Outstanding Commercial Truck Driving Instructors

On Wednesday, January 16th, Altamaha Technical College’s Board of Directors recognized Fallon Weyant and Ronnie Carter for their outstanding Community Contribution over the holidays. Weyant and Carter are both employed as instructors in the Commercial Truck Driving Program.  While most people were enjoying the holidays with family and friends, these instructors were delivering water to the drought stricken Atlanta area.

The Georgia Emergency Management Agency (GEMA) Drought Response Effort was conducted December 17th through the 19th.  Several colleges that are part of the Technical College System of Georgia participated in delivering bottled water from Orlando to Atlanta.  The Departments of Transportation and Forestry also helped in the efforts.

fallon-and-ronnie Altamaha Technical College President Lorette Hoover stated, “I am very proud of our entire college family and I am particularly proud of these two gentlemen for their community commitment and for sacrificing their time over the holidays.  Their efforts helped to ensure continued water supply for North Georgia.”
