Altamaha Technical College Holds Spring Graduation Ceremony

208 graduates received their associates degrees, diplomas, certificates and GED’s during Altamaha Technical College’s spring graduation ceremony held on June 11, 2009. Two members of the college’s faculty and staff served as the color guard during the ceremony. Presenting the colors were 1st Sergeant, U.S. Army retired, James R. Tankersley and Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Navy retired, Larry Thompson. Cosmetology Instructor, Margaret Brunson led in singing the “Star Spangled Banner.” All students in attendance participated via receipt of their awards. The following students had a part in the program: Rose McKiver Grant, a Business and Office Technology graduate and Penny Hallman and Jennifer Coulter both graduates of the Licensed Practical Nursing Program.

Altamaha Technical College dual enrolled Culinary Arts students prepared an authentic Mexican Feast for approximately 50 Jeff Davis School Spanish class students in celebration of Cinco de Mayo.

Students Prepare “Haute Cuisine”
Culinary Arts dual enrollment students from Jeff Davis High School held their 2nd Annual Parent Appreciation Dinner June 2, 2009 at the Big House in Hazlehurst. Parents and guests were served a six course meal with each student responsible for preparing one of the courses. The gourmet meal began with a Crispy Shrimp with Cucumber Sesame Noodles, Fresh Mint and Thai Basil appetizer and concluded with a Blueberry Brown Butter Tart with Vanilla Ice Cream dessert.
