REFUNDS OF TUITION AND FEES
  1. All tuition and fees, excluding the application fee, shall be refunded to students who formally withdraw prior to the third calendar day of the term.
  2. One hundred percent of their tuition shall be refunded if they formally withdraw within the first three instructional calendar days of the term for students not receiving federal financial aid.
  3. For students who withdraw after the first three instructional calendars days of the term, there shall be no refund.
  4. For those students who receive federal financial aid, Altamaha Technical College shall refund unearned tuition, fees and other charges in accordance with the Department of Education’s federally mandated fair and equitable refund policy for all students who receive Title IV assistance.
  5. A student suspended for attendance, academic or other disciplinary reasons will not be eligible for a refund or any portion of any paid tuition and fees.
REFUND POLICY FOR PELL AND FSEOG

If a student withdraws before the 60% point in time of the enrollment period for which his/her financial aid was based, the amount refunded must be calculated using the Federal Return to Title IV Funds calculation. For example, if a student completes 30% of the payment period of enrollment, then the student has earned 30% of the originally scheduled financial aid award. Once a student completes more than 60% of the enrollment period, he/she is eligible to receive the full amount of the financial aid award.

REFUND OF BOOKS AND SUPPLIES

No refunds shall be made for returned used supplies and equipment such as cosmetology kits, diskettes, tools and uniforms. Refunds shall be made for books that are returned in new, resalable condition and accompanied by a receipt.

SENIOR CITIZENS

Senior citizens (with proof of age 62 or older) may be eligible for a waiver of tuition on credit enrollment on a space available basis.
